Keylogger problems...
« on: August 22, 2008, 05:34:55 PM »
I have a friend with a computer that has a key logger program on it.  He knows who it is but doesn't know what to do about it.  Can he trace this?  Can he get the person in trouble if he can prove that this person is stealing his information?  Thanks for any help/information.

How does he know that there is a keylogger on his computer?  Keyloggers can be fairly hard to trace at times, but it can be done.  If he does indeed have one, he should stay offline as much as possible.  If you have your friend follow these instructions, we could perhaps locate and eliminate the keylogger...

And if he can prove that someone has in fact put a keylogger on his computer and is using it to steal information, that person can indeed get in trouble if your friend contacts the authorities.
