     I try to buy new hard drive for windows vista (home basis) do I have to buy new windows for that ? or can i use recovery disk for it...

      Your posting is illlogical  ::), Please say if you arent pc savy.  You need to know what you motherboard use's an IDE or Sata drive.  Sata's are the ones that dont have all the pins in the back.  There shouldnt be a need to if you have the disk that would be a waste of money if you had too.  Sadly you have to reinstall all your programs again.

      Recovery DVDs will work fine, and all programs, which originally came with your computer will be installed, as well.

      Keep in mind when you use those Recovery CD's all existing data will be gone so make sure to backup anything you might need...

        Yes, fortunately, the operating system and software on the disks which came with the computer are not tied to a particular hard drive, so if you replace the hard drive, you still own the software which came with the system.
