    Laptop scans when switched on
    « on: June 08, 2008, 12:55:25 AM »
When I switch on my laptop it will always do a scan before starting windows. It says - Check file system on D:

The type of the file is NTFS...........

Anyone know how to solve the problem?

    Thanks  :)

It seems to me your computer is trying to check the integrity of your hard drive.

Have you let it complete the scan...or does it do it constantly...no matter if you let the scan complete or not?

It checks everytime I switch on my computer and even when I restart.

I let it finish the scan everytime but it still happen.

How long has it been doing this and how old is the laptop ? ?

There's a Registry tweak for this but let's get some more info before we go mucking about in there...

I'm not sure but I think it's been doing this for about two weeks or more. I didn't notice til recently.

I've got the laptop for around 6-7 months. It's Acer Aspire 4320.

I'm not good with the computers.  ???
