    problem installing xp on a laptop having vista

    Hi,

    I bought an HP laptop having vista ultimate . Now i require Xp on the machine.
    So i tried installing with a bootable xp cd....

    i get a blue screen saying the no drives found ...and the setup aborts..

    can someone help me...

    Vista will not normally allow XP to be installed...post ALOT more info about the machine and someone will be along shortly...

      You can install XP in VirtualPC from Microsoft. It is a free download, and runs XP inside of Vista. You may need to increase your ram to get decent performace.
