    windows x64 and DEP protection
    « on: July 25, 2008, 02:12:27 AM »
When starting uTorrent 1.1 (and 1.1.1 dev) on My DELL530 desktop Windows XP x64,
the app fails to load when DEP protection (no execute) is turned on (turned on for all applications).
To get it to work again I had to add an exception for uTorrent in DEP settings.
After that it works just fine.
Maybe you have some way to fix this?

When you add the exception, does it not stay there?
Do you have to keep adding it? Is that your question, if you can keep it permanently?

Are you sure uTorrent is not running in the background(tray icon visible ) when you are applying the settings to DEP ?  ?
You can also safely turn off DEP as another option.
