    Microphone Mute and Boost Stays Unchecked

    Windows XP Pro SP 3
    MSI KT4 Ultra (MS-6590)
    ATI Radeon 9600 XT
    Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
    WDC WD800JB-00CRA1
    AMD Athlon XP 1350MHz (6.75 x 200) 1500+
    2gig ram

    I recently reformatted and downloaded my sound drivers, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy. They appear to be updated since I last installed. I've come across two problems with it though and I'm not sure if it's the new drivers fault or something on my end. When I open Volume Control the microphone appears to be unmuted but I can't hear myself so that's fine, except if I need to test my mic volume I can't do it this way anymore. The second problem is when I click Advanced and go to the Microphone +20dB Boost option. As soon as I close the settings it resets and does not stay checked. Same with the Microphone Mute. It does not stay checked also. Not sure what I can do. I can't seem to find any old drivers either. Any help?

    Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

      Not sure but have you checked in Control Panel. I think there should have been a program installed with your sound card.
      Perhaps the settings there conflict with the ones you are trying to change.

        Creative Audio Console. It does nothing. I can change the EAX so it sounds like I'm in a concert hall.. and a couple tabs about digital audio that has nothing to do with anything. I wish I could intercept your responses quicker cause it feels like we're going nowhere here with the redundant questions, but I understand you have no idea what I've tried.

        Revert back to the previous drivers...
        How old is this card ? ? It may be time for a new one...

          I can't find previous drivers. I built this computer in '02 I believe. I'm poor and can't afford to upgrade anything atm.

          OK i'll bite on this one...
          What is the EXACT model # of the card and we'll help track down the correct drivers...

          BTW a new decent sound card can be had for about 40 Bucks...
