XP pro and ATI radeon 7500

can this work? i now figure out that the radeon might not run right if the XP is 64bit. i cant tell which I got.  my issue is I cant load games, they wont finish, says i need to update drivers. the drivers are as updated as possible. I am truly lost.

I have a Gateway E4000 P4 @1.8, 1GB ram, 200GB HD and some sort of older(2002) XP PRO. its updated to SP3.

What Drivers are they asking for, do you know?

What games? All games?

When did the problem start? Has it happened all the time?

this computer is "new", an older(2002) E4000 gateway. I never loaded a game on it before. it is asking for open gl drivers. the games are silent hill 2 and alone in the dark.

Oh no, not OpenGL. I quite recently had a problem with that and I couldn't get Medal of Honor to work.

I would first try to download and install Video Card Drivers again.
Go to the manufacturer website and look for the right video card and download the drivers.

Are there any error messages when you try to playt he game?

it dont say much except that it cant finish install till I get GL drivers. then its just back to desktop. ok, the card is working in as much as the moniter is killer now. great picture! but, cant load games. this "open GL", what is this?

My problem was I didn't have an OpenGL compatible video card.

I need that exact error message when you try to install the game.

OKEY DOKEY, I will reload the game, make note of the message and get back to ya!

its a "silent hill message" it says the system crashed last time and is starting in safe mode". it then goes to a black screen, forever.
