Task manager processes confusion
« on: March 06, 2005, 04:22:07 PM »
On my laptop running Windows XP Home it takes forever to boot up.  When I bring up the task manager to see what's running there has to be a couple of dozen processes going on very few of which I recognize so I am suspecting I could end a good portion of these processes without creating a major problem.  Unfortunately I don't know which processes are critical and which are not.  Anyone know where I might find such a list.  Thanks for any help.

Dan.

A couple of dozen processes is not a large amount by any means, nor is it at all uncommon.

You can check each process to determine exactly what it is at....
