[XP] Battlefield 2142 crashing on startup

i installed the BF2142 on vista and it worked fine then i installed it on xp on another pc to play multiplayer but when i start it get crashed. I didnt use any patch, because its working on vista. That pc DirectX is 9c + 1Gig ram

can anybody tell me how to get it work on XP?

dude i dont trust these sites however the pc has min req of Battlefield 2142

Pentium D 2.80GHz, 1 GB ram, 128 mb intel chipset

and it can run UEFA 2008

You mentioned a patch. What patch did you not install?

no patch at all, just normal installed. I think its version is 1.0.9 something i remember. I think i should install patch 1.50 ??

I would try it. Patches are used to 'patch' holes/errors in the game.

Agreed, you should definitely try patching your game.  The 1.5 patch has loads of bug fixes and it may very well fix your problem.  Whenever you have a problem like this, installing the latest patch is one of the first things you should try.  If it doesn't help, then we'll take it from there.

ok, i installed patch 1.20 and problem remain same then i tried to install v1.50 but it gave an error that unable to update and close, any idea?

Sorry, I got mixed up.  I'm so used to Vista having problems.  Heh.  What video card do you have?  Is it on-board (meaning that you rely on the motherboard's graphics)?  If you can give us a model number, we can check the compatibility of it.

yes, its onboard video card, the motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-945GZM-S2, i never require PCIe video card on it because it run almost every game and i dont play high requirements games on it, but now i want to play battlefield 2142 on Lan thats why i need it too.

yes, its onboard video card, the motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-945GZM-S2, i never require PCIe video card on it because it run almost every game and i dont play high requirements games on it, but now i want to play battlefield 2142 on Lan thats why i need it too.

Sorry, xmen, I haven't really been around on the forums much and I'm not sure how much I can help you.  If you are still experiencing problems, I think you might have better luck (and more responses) over at the official forum...
