Don't buy from Ebay, it's almost definitely a scam.
Trust me on this, I get quite a few call-outs from people who's been stung there.
I agree on the UK/US pricing though, things often work out 1.5-2x more expensive here.

I wonder, if you buy in US, what would be a charge for shipping?

i have spent the last 3 months on and off researching computers and nearly all US companies either dont post to the US (like newegg) or charge unbelieveable prices ($00's) so it works out as more expensive

i have it and after some initial problems, its all working
    i have 1 problem though.
it says im using 1.2GB RAM when its idling but im only actually using less than half according to "processes"
is this a memory leak and if so, how do i fix it?

Glad that this transaction has worked for you so far :)

Need clarification - what says that you are using 1.2 GB...?

Task Manager says 40% memory usage.
1.2GB would be 40% out of 3GB. How much RAM do you have?

well i have 4gb but only 32bit OS so im sure u know the rest
the problem is that thee list of processes with the RAM usage next to them doesnt add up to the 1.2GB that it says its using
so the question is, wheres the rest of the RAM going?!

I'm not sure what column you're adding up. In Task Manager you can add several memory related columns:

You should be looking at Working Set (Memory)

so it is plausible that firefox with few addons is using 150MB RAM?

My FF starts at about 80k, and then keeps growing. Currently at 200k, but I've seen it at 350k.

aother problem. this is a strange 1
i have 2 games that came with the computer, Medal of Honour - Airborne and Rainbow 6 - VEGAS.
i tried to install them both (they are both genuine) and they both failed. this is what rainbow 6 said (see attached pic)
i managed to install Command and Conquer - Generals with no hitches
