I got this really small desktop compaq but I dont know what model it is an I got it for free so I dont really have anything to it. But I dont know the RAM an dont know how to get to the board to find out. Its a really slim skinky type.

yeah I wasnt sure if I could at first but after adding a HD an some RAM it seems to give me so info. I put in some sdram or sram I forget but it seems that its the size it takes.

Any clue from what I gave you since that I'm not going up to the place my dad works after classes. I need to know how to take it apart it has tooken on a lot of dust an stuff. I seen some of the stuff I got from him usually I wait a day or so to do stuff but I had inhailed some of the dust tring to blow it out of the heatsink. Aside from I wont see him till monday maybe not depends. I have another project going.

So now we know it's a Compaq Ipaq. Good.
Go to the Compaq website and find the model number.

It shows where it was bought an the number from that, then there an ingraved numbers in the side panel of the case its self. P/n not sure if thats something.

Squall, you said they told you where to get the Model Number and you looked for your kind and couldn't download any manuals.

I didnt find any where it said to find one. I looked at the ones for celeron an it fell into a selected group like several of the same make an model. The main site. But there isnt one to download.

Look for an FCC ID# on the MBoard and type it into google and hit Enter...

yes but some how after you take the sides off the top comes off or something some how an not sure how to do this to get in side cause theres an even smaller cover shielding the board.

That's almost the same as mine, but slightly different.
On mine there were 2 Torx screws, at the bottom of the case just under the PSU, which needed to be undone, and then the case just pulled apart.
It's not an easy case to work on, and most components are proprietary too.

If you can grab some more pics of the rear of the case, specifically near the bottom, it may become clearer and I might be able to help you more.
I don't have my Compaq any more because the case annoyed me too much, I accidentally broke the motherboard trying to remove it because it wasn't standard, and of course neither was the PSU so that went too.

Ah, I thought you were having trouble getting inside the case at all.
I see you've partially disassembled it, that's as far as I got before resorting to brute force and destroying things.
There's no point taking it further anyhow as the components you can't get at are all proprietary.
In short, you could take the memory, HDD, CPU and HS, but the motherboard, case and PSU will be no good unless you got another system exactly the same.
