    Windows2000 Prof. question
    « on: September 12, 2008, 10:37:11 PM »
     Good Day:
I recently installed Windows2000 [from WindowsME]
A few things are different in Win2000  and I have some Qs for help.
In WinME I used to do routine maintenance and check performance status regularly........Disk Cleanup..Scan Disk...Defrag, etc.
Now, although Disk Cleanup is covered, SCAN DISK I cannot find.
Start >>Programs>>>Accessories>>System tools.  But Scan Disk is not listed in System tools.   Where is it ?

Q2.  In trying to check Performance Status  ie.,  Rt.click MyComputer>>Properties<<System Properties dialog box appears but NO Performance tab to click  to get RAM resources, etc.
Can anyone with  a similar setup help ?
                                                                                  EdmundoR

    1. Right click My Computer, Manage, Storage, Disk Management, right-click C:, Properties, Tools, Check Now
    2. Hold Windows key, and click Pause/Break.

      Thanks BRONI

      Thanks Broni:
I still wonder why WIN2000 made it harder to access the Performance Status and Memory, etc. [than WinME ]
So, thanks for showing me the path to open these programs.

Micro$oft likes to mess around with things, which actually works fine for most people.
      You're welcome :)
