epson scanner 1240u
« on: March 10, 2005, 09:36:21 AM »
my scanner makes a rapid clicking noise about seven eighths the way through scanning a page. this results in the bottom inch and a half of the page being missing.i must admit i've had it apart and it doesn't appear to be catching or stuck on anything, but it refuses to scan the bottom part of the page. HELP PLEASE SOMEONE.

It sounds like maybe it's sensor has gone "out of wack"... Can you take it back to where you bought it from, and have it replaced?

thanks for your reply. is the sensor replaceable, and where in the scanner is it, or is it cheaper in the long run to replace the scanner.
