EDIT: If non of the steps here work for you, please start your own topic rather than asking for help in this thread.Hi!
How is everyone?
Okay, I'm constantly getting this error whenever I open up a highly detailed route in BVE Train Simulator. It will run with no problems for a few seconds, then the FPS rate drops, and finally, it crashes and this error appears:
Windows - Display Driver Stopped Responding.
The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save yourwork and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to microsoft.
So I restart, and no dialogs appear.
I've tried:
- Turning down the graphics acceleration, which at least prevented it from happening every time, but it still gave me that error
- Updating the drivers. No drivers were found.
- Closing all applications I don't need, still crashed
- Getting the latest DirectX version, which I did not install after reading that it only runs on Vista.
I'm out of ideas. I do not plan to update WinXP to SP3 because the SP2 installation didn't even finish last time, it only got halfway when I shut down my computer because it was getting late.
I've ran DirectX and Direct3D tests and there were no problems with the files DirectX installed.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.
1.30GHz processor
256MB Random Access Memory
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
DirectX 9.0
I really do not want to go to System Restore or anything that involves using a CD-ROM drive, so it would be great if I don't need to.
Thanks in advance.
