Picking one is hard. But as of today I'd probably agree that my favorite is Fallout 3. Some of my favorite RPG contenders in the order of best to last IMO.

The original Fallout and Fallout2
Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption
Torment
Each of the Gothic series although wasn't crazy about the last.

          If you consider Diablo 2 an RPG I'd definitely include that in my list.

                      Hands down, best rpg EVER is Warcraft III, and the Frozen Throne expansion. (I dont count WoW because it's simply too awesome, and it would score a 15 on a scale of 1-10, so there is no contest)
