stereo reciver help

i have a huge 17"ish speaker and a stereo receiver well i plug the speaker into the stereo receiver and turn it up all the way and you can berly hear it so someone told me to get a transformer and put it into the receiver and that should make it louder will that work?

i dont have any details LOL but i guess the only way is an amp but i found out its a 18" speaker from 2006 thats areound 800 watts

If its not making any noise, the voice coil is likely burnt out, therefor, the woofer is toast. A magnetic paper weight, IE, trash, garbage, junk, and or good to throw at someone.

it makes noise but its hard to hear due to the low stereo revicer wattage
