    How do I clear the documents list?

    Hello I just wanted to know how do I clear the list of documents in the start bar.
    I have win xp sp3 on this Ive tried taskbar and start menu but it hasnt cleared the documents from winword.

    What happens if you Right Click them and click on Remove from List?

       I dont have a remove from list feature.
      If I hit Start, My recent documents, DOC 1 though to 8, right click. I get delete as the best option..... But I dont want to DELETE it. I just want to clear the whole list.

        You computer gurus probably got a fancy way of doing that... but for me this works

        Ah yes, that Recent Documents folder.

        You can Right Click them and press Delete, it will not delete the original files.

        To get rid of the list, Right Click the Start Menu --> Properties --> Customize --> Advanced --> Clear List.

          I did that before carbon and all that got deleted was the icons from recent windows/programs list on the left.

          Strange....

          Download Ccleaner.

          Have it run a registry sweep.

          Now head over to the Registry section in CCleaner.
          Click Scan for Issues a few times and then Fix Selected Issues.
          Repeat this one or two times.
          CCleaner will prompt you to back up the registry. I suggest you do.

            Deleting them one by one like that would take a very long time over the course of a days work. Im sure it was easier. Ive done it before.. Like the right click bit.
            Then I'll have to check the recycle bin for the deleted bits I suppose.
            Ow Well a solution for the time being.
            Download... not tonight though.

            Ok then Thanks that will have to be a tommorrow thing then.
            I have be up early so Im off for tonight.

            Are you sure you clicked on the "Clear List" button in the "Advanced" tab and not in the "General" tab?  The button in the "General" tab will clear the recently used programs list.  The button in the "Advanced" tab will clear the recently used documents list.
