Laptop randomly jumps to black screen.

I'm using a couple month old HP laptop than came with Windows Vista SP1. I also use McAfee, Windows Firewall, AdAware, and Firefox.

The computer runs smoothly with no problems during use if I'm surfing the internet or working in Microsoft Office, but when I'm playing any form of multimedia (be it iTunes, YouTube, any flash game, etc.), the screen sometimes randomly goes completely black (multiple times a day), any sound coming from the speakers/headphones stops, and the computer doesn't seem to recognize any command I enter into the keyboard (FN+F3 usually puts it into sleep mode instantly, but that doesn't work, nor do any other commands I know). I'm forced to forcefully shut the computer down with the power button. The computer reboots fine, as it usually does when I shut it down that way.

I've run both McAfee and AdAware but neither come up with anything. Does anybody know why my computer does this or of a way I could figure it out?

If it's only a couple months old I suspect it is under warranty.  I strongly recommend contacting the manufacturer.

If you don't mind me chiming in here...

Caldeh, if the laptop is only a few months old, as Eg0Death said, it should still be under warranty.
You can use this warranty and HP will fix it for free if it's a Hardware Problem.
If it is a Software problem, I suggest continuing here in ComputerHope.
From my experience, if it's a software problem, they might suggest reinstalling Windows and starting over and leave it at that.
