Infostealer.gampass
« on: October 11, 2008, 04:26:18 PM »
Over the last week or so, my computer's antivirus system (Symantec) has been recording .exe virus files under the Infostealer.Gampass threat type. It's been, every single time, found in C:\System Volume Information. Everytime though, it says its been deleted successfully. It's just annoying to get virus notifications about once everyday, especially when I'm not sure about the threat of this virus (according to Symantec, very low).
Can anyone help me? Everytime the virus registers, it comes with a name starting with A, and then a number following it. For example, one day it's A0154582.exe, and the next A0154583.exe, etc.

Thanks for anyone's help!

Have you run a full system scan lately?
Basically, your antivirus is picking up the virus in your System Restore backup.
