Did you merge that fix with the registry?Did you restart computer?
Un-install iTunes software using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel...
was using FF for last year or so.it has worked fine

I suggested Un-installing iTunes to see if it was part of the problem here...Are you sure the registry merge file Broni sent was done properly ? ?
That registry fix is provided for exact case like yours, so I was really surprised, it didn't work.
Right Click the download file and go to Merge.

Interesting...RIght Click the file and go to Properties.Where it says 'Opens With', click Change.Click Browse and go to C:\WINDOWS\ and find Regedit or Regedit.exe.Click OK and OK.Now try to open it.
