Nvidia control panel Uninstall
« on: October 21, 2008, 11:01:23 AM »
Hi
After alot of thought, I have now decided to get the Ati 4870, instead of the Geforce 260. Now, what I need to know is, do I have to uninstall the Nvidia control panel? Or would it be ok to just leave this installed. Also, what will the new Ati control panel name be, and will this be compatible with windows vista 32bit?

I have never ever had an Ati card before, so I’m very unsure about this card myself. Also, can anyone give me some thoughts on what you think about this card! Thanks!!

Uninstall the old Nvidia drivers from Control Panel, then turn off.
Physically install the new card, power up, install the latest ATI drivers.

The ATI software is Catalyst Control Centre.

That's a good card, but it does run hot.

Where in the control panel do I uninstall the Nvidia drivers? Do you mean through the device manager? Thanks!!

Sorry, under Programs in Control Panel, the equivalent of Add/Remove Programs on XP.
