Which Internet Explorer version do you have.  IE6, IE7?

What Operating System do you have. XP, Vista?

    Is 'SP1 3rd Edition' actually SP3'

    Have you tried another Browser?

Can you try Mozilla Firefox and see if the problem continues?

What is the "one particular website"? Does it have active content, like Flash or Java on it?

Why there is no SP2 installed?
What security programs are you using (firewall, AV)?

Hey, I get that problem frequently with IE6, that's why I seldom use it. I use SlimBrowser most of the time. Ias anybody heard of it? :)

Because it was a quite old PC for home use, a Pentium 4 1.7G processor, I just did not upgrade to SP2.
A free AVAST antivirus  was also installed.

SP2 is an important operating system update and not just a security fix as most were led to believe...
            It should be installed.
