SP2 is an important operating system update and not just a security fix as most were led to believe...
It should be installed.

I know this is an old issue but can you tell me if SP3

It should be installed.
I had my pc in for a format and they said I had 621 virus on my pc.  I had talked to Microsoft for 2 nights and I told them I had NO anti-virus installed, they said 'no problem, you'll be ok'  and they installed SP3.   now my pc seems slow and won't go to alot of my websites I go to.  I have CA Internet Security Suite v7 installed also.
I spose you can't tell what's wrong just by reading this but I also get error msgs about IE and OE encountering a problem and has to close.  I lose alot of data this way.
I try to save it and I can't find it when it restarts.
I use IE7 and SP3 now.
I also have Firefox.
thanx in advance,
kat

What exactly did they do at the shop ? ?
It may be as simple as some missing drivers.
