      run system info under system tool...and/or

      goto control panel/system/device manager/network...

      You haven't given much info- but These instructions are for Windows XP.


      Open My computer.

      Right-Click your "My network Places" Icon, and select properties.

      This shows all your network connections. The device Name can be used to retrieve the name of your ethernet adapter.

      If your having problems with your ethernet card and needed to install new drivers, you can use Everest to view your hardware details, and determine your Ethernet card specifications.
      I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
