    My computer won't turn on
    « on: December 05, 2008, 12:19:50 AM »
I have an older Dell that I decided to add more memory to and to update. I turned it off and after I added the RAM, it won't turn on! What could be the problem? I opened up the case and when I plug it up, there is a light that comes on the motherboard but when I push the button to turn on the computer, nothing happens.

What happens if you take out the RAM. Does the computer turn on?

Make sure it is seated fully.
Make sure it is the correct type/speed.

To check this see your MBoard manual or travel to Dell's site and enter your service tag #...

Carbon Dudeoxide, I took the RAM out and the computer came on.
Patio, I will check for the type, it may have been the wrong type.
