    Missing .dll file

    Ok, for about the past two months, I have been receiving this error message saying something to the extent of "error could not find c:\windows\system 32\UrqPgGx.dll" the file name might not be exactly correct, but you get the idea. anyway I checked another computer that works and also has windows vista, and the file does not exist. What should I do?

    Run a virus check. We "get the idea"  ::) but if you can't you be bothered to post the exact file name, how do you expect anybody to be bothered to help you?

      hmm. good point. i'll restart pc and write it down. virus check didn't pick up anything.

          run SFC /scannow

          it'll check all system files..

            OK, a dos screen flashes for a second and then disappears. nothing else happens.

              sorry, was in too much of a hurry...should have said do windows key r, type cmd, that opens a cmd screen, then type sfc /scannow

                after scanning this is what it said " Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. details are in cluded in the cbs.log" then it gives a file path to the log and says that the changes will take effect after next reboot. I restarted the computer but it the message still comes up.

                  do a repair install of the operating system...

                  google it or use help on your system

                      it most likely is...BUT how about cleaning up/fixing the system files that are screwed up as SFC showed FIRST!!!...IMO
