    Microsoft Office Outlook Not Sending Emails

    My outlook stopped sending emails from my outbox. They just stay there. I am receiving emails fine just unable to send. I am on Windows XP.

    Edit: I am using Outlook 2007.

      No errors. It worked after I re-booted my laptop. I'm not sure why it happened.

          Ok well the problem is happening again. Clearly, some sort of recurring problem. Only thing it says is SEND/RECEIVE ERROR in the bottom right corner of Outlook.

            The error message says that the connection to the server was interrupted. However, I still have internet access and nothing has changed from the last time I sent an email.

              This problem keeps happening at random, often inconvenient intervals.

                Ok, I know I have the last like 5 posts on this thread, but I think the reason it doesn't work is because I'm on "wired" internet. When I unplug my Ethernet cord, it works.

                Double check your POP3 and SMTP server settings in Outlook...
                Being wired or wireless should make no difference.

                  I understand that it shouldn't make a difference but for some reason, on rare occasions, it does. Strangest thing.

                    Is your wireless internet connection still active when you have the wired connection? Sometimes that can cause problems within the network and make packets drop/connections fail. I've had it happen to me a few times.

                      Are you sending e-mails with large attachments?  If so, your ISP's SMTP server may have a hard time with those. :)

                        I am not sending large attachments. Generally, just a 2 to 3 sentence message.

                              When it says "Send/Receive error" at the bottom right, can you click on it to get some more details?

                                I will next time I have an issue. It probably won't be for awhile because it only happens rarely and when I am at school connected to the wired and wireless internet. I am on break now through January 20th.

                                  If you're connected to the wired and the wireless at the same time, that can definitely cause your connection to drop sporadically. If you have a choice, and it's not to inconvenient, use the wired - more stable, generally.

                                    Also, check wht attachment type you are sending. If you are sending .exe or something which your mail service provide do not all ...  you may receive error
