How to import MP3 into Itunes and Ipod
« on: December 17, 2008, 11:36:01 AM »
I have my iPod and the only thing that has been playing is AAC files. This is the first time I try a MP3 file and the Itunes program seems not  to recognize the format. How I am supposed to import it? Is there any thing that I need to set up for MP3? Do I need to convert the MP3 files to AAC? Do Ipods play AAC and MP3 indistinguishably in the same folder? Until now, it was just ripping the music from my own CDs but know I have downloaded the MP3 from Paste Magazine. I read something about MP3 LAME files but I ignore what they are. I am posting too many questions. Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

isnt acc a type of media protection? so there for we can not help you remove it (i think)
Please don't bother with posting if you have no idea what you're talking about.

CUERVO,
iTunes and iPod are fully capable of handling MP3's.  In fact, it is the only format I use.  How exactly are you trying to import the MP3 you downloaded?  Are you getting an error message or is the MP3 showing up in your library as gray?  Have you tried simply clicking on the file and dragging it and dropping it into your iTunes library?

Also, keep in mind that when you add files to your playlist, you don't use the Import feature.  You are actually supposed to go to File > Add File to Library.  If this isn't what you are doing, give it a try.

Do either of my suggestions work?
