    Is it desktop, or laptop?
Any labels on front panel, back panel, any paperwork?

      Okay, it's a desktop.
      It says on front panel:
      IBM
      Intel Inside
      Pentium
Windows Design for Microsoft Windows XP
      Net Vista

      I can't find the paperwork.
Sorry, I'm not giving you much to work with.

Don't worry about it. To be honest what I would do next is remove the hard drive from your computer and try to run it as a slave on another machine to retrieve the file your after... even this might not work but it is most likely to help you out. However to do this you will need to go inside your computer and a screw driver may be required.... lol.

Please wait for a reply from some one like Broni that can talk you through other steps to take first and possibly even this.

If it comes to it though it will involve removing the cover from the side of your computer, removing the rectangle thing from your computer which will need un-screwing and then flicking a couple of the switches on it to turn it into slave mode and then plugging it into another machine by the ribbon connectors...

If it comes to this it would be best to research it on the internet first or even better get someone you know who has done it before to do it.

We really don't have enough info about your computer to work on.
Do you feel like you're up to removing hard drive, or maybe you have friend, who can help you out...
