Back up .json file, Windows cant read??
    « on: January 19, 2009, 07:35:45 PM »
Hello I have been trying to back up my bookmark folders from Mozilla and they come up with a .json extension. but now I cant get windows to read the file? Is this normal, or is it because windows cant read mozilla file extensions or something?

Ultimately How do I get my bookmarks saved, so I can have a copy of them for when I use a clean install of Win XP Pro SP 3 on this drive?
Any input would be greatly appreciated here thank you.

    Since when?
    Use:
    1. Mozbackup: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
    or/end
    2. FEBE: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109

Broni thanks for that input. I downloaded it and used it to back up,  :( , but I just dont seem to be able to view what I saved because its a .json file extension.
Ive been on the FEBE site but cant get it to show me what Ive saved?

Ive been trying to get this backup to work but must say I dont understand it.
It seems I have backed up my bookmarks and have a copy of FEBE on the flash drive, just I can open the files to "see" them.
Can some one please tell me what Im doing wrong. Thank you.

With Mozbackup, you simply run it, and put a checkmark in "Backup a profile" to make a backup.
To restore the backup, you put checkmark in "Restore a profile":

you should be able to right click the file and pick open with...than pick notepad as the program you want to use.
