Was the iPod ever connected to a Mac before?

iPods need to be formatted before they can be connected to a different OS i.e. Windows to Mac or vice versa.

he had me go to msconfig
                disable start programs
                then it worked
he then told me to enable them one by one to
find the program that was the problem
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo was it
                it came with the computer
i never use it so i deleted it
                problem solved
