Technically, DDR is SDRAM. The "SD" stands for Synchronous Dynamic RAM. SDRAM is tied to the system clock or is "in sync" with the clock. SDRAM clock speeds match the FSB.

Before SDRAM there was FPMRAM that was not "synchronous" with the system clock.

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. With DDR the throughput of SDRAM is DOUBLED by making two processes for every clock cycle.

DDR is Double-Data Rate SDRAM.

Most Computer memory is SDRAM, except for most on-chip cache is SRAM, which is faster; and there are various other kinds used in different applications, but most expandable computer memory is some form of SDRAM right now.

ok..so basically i have an older version of SDRAM, not an older version of DDR ram

my main laptop (acer "mini" intel atom) has 1gig ddr2

desktop has 512 mb sdram

secoundary has 512 mb sdram

my old main had 2 gigs ddr2

well this is pretty cool stuff here man..

My moms computer has 2gb, mine has 504MB. Now if only she would switch to high speed internet....

Our main computer has 4GB, but only 3.5GB are usable since I'm running XP 32-bit.  My old laptop that my mom uses has 1GB.  The old desktop has 512MB.  As for my sister's laptop and my dad's, I have no clue.  I'd say between 512MB and 1GB.

I've 2 Gb in my Desktop
My Laptop also has 2 Gb
My wifes Desktop has 1.5 Gb as does my stepdaughters
