I am running a 500 G My Book external with Vista Home Premium.

I cannot name a "new folder" nor can I cut or delete files. I can remove the drive from the computer and after 2-3 mins. plug it back in and for a while it will let me do whatever. I am running as the "administrator" user... PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE PAIN!!!
