      1.  Is the system slow and laggy in "Safe Mode"?  Is it slow and laggy in "Normal" mode if you're not connected to the internet?

      2.  Process Explorer.  Download, unzip, and run Process Explorer.  It's a Microsoft product (previously SysInternals) so it's fine.  It will give a better idea of what processes are running and what their CPU/context switching/memory demands are.

      3.  You're probably going to need to experiment with your system's hardware/software configuration.  Possibly:
           a.  Use Process Explorer to identify who's using CPU and/or a lot of context switches.  To display "Context Switch Delta" choose "View" -> "Select Columns" -> "Process Performance" tab -> check "Context Switch Delta".

           b.  Power down and unplug all external peripherals to eliminate them as a source of your slowness.  Is it still slow and laggy?

           c.  Reduce the number of programs that automatically startup when you boot and logon by unchecking their box on Startup tab.  For test purposes uncheck the following:
               o  Windows Messenger
               o  Gmail
               o  Sprint SmartView
               o  Family Safety Client

If you unplug from the internet uncheck the following also:
               o  Windows Defender
               o  ESET Smart Security

Your display columns are truncated on right side...  Cannot tell what other Startup entries are.

           d.  After logon use Process Explorer to selectively kill running processes to see if performance picks up.

        1. It is laggy in normal mode, NOT in safe mode, Safe mode is fine
its laggy when im connected to the internet or not.
I tried testing different things at start up nothing is different

attached is the Process Explorer thing just in case

and thats is all that is running that was in the start up window

edit: and here is the hijackthis log as well

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista), type in:
        msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

        Click on Startup tab.
        Click Disable all

        Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
        Click Disable all.

        Click OK.
        Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

Broni:  Thank you.  I don't speak Vista very well.  And I don't do "HiJackThis" logs...  Apparently you need to be a member of the "Union" (or frequent seedy web sites?).

Alrainya:  I generally defer to Broni.  You would do well to follow his advice.  That being said; if it doesn't work out; go back to Process Explorer Window and let its System Information Window run for awhile.  Pay attention to its history graphs.  If you mouse over the "spikes" on the graph, it will tell you what process caused the spike.  See if they correlate with your "lags".  Process Explorer is your friend.  Access the window from process explorer via View -> System Information.

When you say the computer "freezes" or "froze", does it resume on its own or do you have to reboot to use your computer?

Cali? As in "Santiago de Cali"?

BTW...HJT log is clean, but I wanted him to run "clean boot", so we can see, if any non-M$ application may be at fault.

Broni:  I think she's driving the laptop pretty hard.  Any thoughts on whether you should run "Windows Defender" and "ESET Smart Security (NOD32 Anti-Virus?) concurrently?

Windows Defender is not that demanding. The specs look good, but again, I wanted to see, if starting M$ only services, and startups will change anything (NOD will not run with "safe boot").

Ok Sorry for the long wait
Power went out for a while ><
                (so did the internet)

Anyway i did the "Clean boot" So far everything is fine (so far)

when i mean when it freezes that it doesnt do anything but if i leave it alone for a little while (30secs) it;ll go back to whatever i was doing

At the moment i havent got anything going except this Firefox window and the process explorer

                Edit: and Cali as in California ^^;

Try to use it more heavily, then leave it for a few minutes untouched, and see what happens.

No, because what we did, we disabled all startups, and all NON-Micro$oft services, which means you have some software problem, and that's good :)
Now, you'll have to have some patience, and some time. Don't rush anything.
What you have to do is this.
Look back at my reply #3.
                  Go to msconfig again.
                  Click Services tab.
                  Enable (checkmark) one non-Microsoft service.
                  Restart computer.
                  Use it for a while.
                  No problem?
Go back to msconfig, and enable next service.
                  Restart.
...and so on, until you'll find the culprit.

Personally, I'd start with some NOD service.

It doesn't matter. Every computer is different. I didn't say, it IS NOD.
Just take a while, and you'll find the problem.

When you're done with Services, and still all good, move to Startup tab, and start enabling startups, one-by-one.
