    Computer Freeze

Hi, my son has an Acer computer that is several years old and when he uses windows media player for about 10 or 20 minutes the screen will freeze or the blue screen of death will come up.  I thought maybe it was a ram problem but each stick tested ok.  He wiped the hard drive and loaded windows vista back up and tried it again but got same results.  What do you think?

    Please, post some computer info:
    - processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
    - hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
    - security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)

Also write down the exact BSOD message including the gibberish and post it here...

Problem fixed! ;D  2 sticks of ram had been previously added and evidently were not compatible with the stick that was in there.  He pulled out the original stick and kept the 2 matched sticks and the problem no longer exists.
