Help Please With IE

Ok, On my other comp. when i open IE it says like... "Waiting for reply" or somthing like that with the time glass thing. The comp is XP and IE 6.0.. i think. PLEASE HELP I AM A MORON WHEN IT COMES 2 COMPS.   :-/ :'(THX

Are you sure it's connected to the internet?  Are you able to get email on that system?  Go to your command prompt (Click on your START button then choose RUN, in the RUN box type COMMAND to bring up your command prompt).  In the command prompt type "ping www.microsoft.com" (without quotes).  Do you get a response or does it time out?
