Problems With Folding At Work
« on: May 18, 2009, 09:03:05 PM »
I've been trying to run either version of the FAH client on my computer at work.  I can download the version of choice, and install it, but I get errors when the client tries to download a work unit.

I'd "chalk it up" to the firewall software at work, except for one thing:

I keep the console client on my flash drive, and if I bring a partially worked unit to the work computer, and activate it, it will finish the unit, and download another work unit, and continue on like it's no problem.

I can't seem to start a new unit on my work computer, even if it's from the flash drive.

It doesn't make much sense.

Anyone have a similar experience?

What's the error it throws when the client tries to grab a unit?

Doggone it!  I knew you were going to ask that!!
I didn't write it down.  I will find out, though.

Thank you!

This is for the console client software.

- Error: HTTP GET returned error code 0
+ Error:  Could not download core.
+ Core download error (#7), waiting for retry...

(The number in the last line increments with each attempt.)

The following is for the system tray version of the client software.

[22:50:05] Core required: FahCore_82.exe
[22:50:05] Core not found.
[22:50:05] - Core is not present or corrupted.
[22:50:05] - Attempting to download new core...
[22:50:05] + Downloading new core: FahCore_82.exe
[22:50:06] - Error: HTTP GET returned error code 0
[22:50:06] + Error: Could not download core
[22:50:06] + Core download error (#2), waiting before retry...

[22:50:19] + Downloading new core: FahCore_82.exe

I've not seen this before, but some quick Googling says the solution might be to adjust the option for "Use IE Settings".
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I'll post again if I find another fix.

I didn't think to search the 'net.  I'll have to look around.  Thank you for looking at this.
