Sims Help!
« on: March 24, 2009, 09:02:22 PM »
I was feeling nostalgic and decided to put The Sims [1] back onto my new computer. I have Vista on my computer. I installed The Sims Deluxe with no problems, then I installed Hot Date with no problems, but once I tried to put Vacation on, it got to 95% and an error box popped up and said:

"component: expansionpack3
filegroup: expansionpack3
file: e/setup/data2.cab
error: data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

I popped the disk out, and put it right back in, but then I got a box that said "The Sims has not been previously installed on your Computer." If I read it right, I think the expansion may have been trying to save itself to the E driver but I have no idea why. Is that the issue or is something else amiss?

it encountered a error reading the disc. try uninstalling and reinstalling.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
