    Windows 2008 Software?
    « on: March 26, 2009, 01:03:21 PM »
I have windows dedicated server right now my first one hosted with Server Intellect. Even thou it is a managed server and they provide very good monitoring software I was wondering is there something else I can install in the background to make sure my individual websites are up vs just watching to see if the server is up? I am pretty confident with the server up time after 4 months but I am worried about the future if my site gets hijacked or taken down. I want to know right away that my html is down. Any ideas?

You could write a script that tells you, or you could pay for a service that will call you. To watch my sites, I wrote a script that runs on a workstations away from my server. It sends me a text message (via gmail) with the error code and which site is down. It also pops a message up on my screen to tell me also.

You could use wget to download html or to spider whole sites and report results.
