    .mht files
    « on: March 27, 2009, 11:08:13 AM »
.mht files are used by default in Opera. They are web-archive files with images etc all stored in one file. Does anybody know if they are compressed or how they compare with ordinary .htm files and their folders (size-wize, I mean)?

    Any thoughts?

MHT files are also the default saved HTML page for IE7. They don't open in Firefox though, unfortunately they only show the HTML code.

Though Firefox doesn't provide native support for viewing or writing MHTML files, the Mozilla Archive Format (MAF) Firefox extension can help you. Once installed in Firefox, this extension lets you save Web pages in the open-source .MAFF format. It can also read and write .MHT files, which IE users can open.
