Disable ADSL internet connection while travelling
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:29:08 PM »
Hello,

I use a ADSL internet connection at home. Am currently travelling and using a WIFI connection for a few months. Works fine, but the "Connect to ADSL" log-in window keeps appearing while surfing in Firefox..can be clicked away with cancel but is a bit annoying. Thought about deleting the connection entirely, but I'll want to get it back eventually..can't see how to disable this in Firefox or Network Connections....any help?

Is this windows Vista or XP?  If vista, right-click the network icon in the taskbar and click "network and sharing center". On the left click "manage network connections".  In the window that pops up, right click the network adapter you do not need and click "disable". You can always enable it again when you need it. Pretty similar to how you do it in XP.
