My Windows XP is so infected... help!
    « on: April 15, 2009, 12:38:10 AM »
So I have virtumonde on my computer! I have tried to get rid of it with Spybot multiple times in vain. Then I ended up getting Spyware Protector 2009 (a trojan.) I ended the process and removed it with spybot, then installed avast and rebooted my computer. Spyware Protector appears to be gone now. However, a lot of my internet settings are changed. Weird.

On the start-up scan, Avast found several infections and I had them deleted. There was one that would not let me do anything with it. After avast finished its scan and I logged in, I got two error messages that said Error loading c:/windows/system32/komanini.dll and Error Loading c:/windows/system32/nuhiyora.dll.

There are lots of system32 files and .dll's on my computer.

I have no idea what's going on... I keep getting a lot of pop-ups, my computer is running really, really slow and I have this virtumonde which won't go away. I'm not very good with computers... someone help! Please tell me what to do/what's going on.

So the SuperAntiSpyware has been scanning my computer for 8 hours now and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon... is this normal?  Do all the scans for the logs take this long?

Also, in the meantime, Avast! keeps giving me things about "virus found"  "malware found" and I'm putting them in Avast's chest.  Should I disable Avast or keep responding to its alerts?

I'm starting to think I have conficker e... my computer won't let me download the newest Microsoft malicious software program.  I never even heard of conficker before this happened...  but I have the SpywareProtect 2009, which is supposed to be because of conficker, and all these problems started just this weekend....

Anyways, at the rate the super antispyware scan is going,  I won't have logs for about 2-3 days.

          Superantispyware usually runs 15 minutes.

Maybe you should proceed to the next program.
