Internet Explorer Back Button and other issues
    « on: April 16, 2009, 08:34:05 AM »
I am having an issue with the back button on internet explorer version 7.  Four day ago my wife logged into Face book for the first time.  Ever since then internet has been acting up.  It first started with using search on Yahoo or Google.  You could search on a topic and the sites would appear fine.  When a site was selected, you would get redirected to an advertisement which related to the site you selected but not the exact site.  For instance if you searched for computers and chose the Dell site you would be redirected to say a computer repair site.  You could use the back button once and it would go to the Dell site which is what was selected in the first place.  Many times IE would say it has encountered an error and must shut down. With much adware, malware, spyware scanning I have got most of the shut down errors fixed except for the back button issue which has now progressed to you have to chose the down arrow next to the back button to go any where.  Any ideas?

I found something interesting over the weekend on the topic I submitted above.  In looking at the internet addons (after much research on what an addon did for the system) I noticed that some of the active X entries were not consistant with previous entries from Sun Micro.  I disabled one at a time and then retried internet search.  The internet back button worked and the website I selected actually came up, at least for three or four times then I was redirected again.  I returned to the addons manager and disabled another active X entry from Adobe which looked suspicious.  As of this moment the back button works and I was not redirected.   Any thoughts from anyone?
