sysvxd.exe problem resolved?
« on: April 17, 2009, 12:07:54 PM »
Hi,

First off thanks so much for your help. It's totally cool that people who have knowledge are willing to share it with others. I'm very grateful.

I've followed your guideline section on virus and spyware removal: http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,46313.0.html. It was really well written and easy to follow. I'd just like to check I've resolved the issue.

Here's the issue:
I had a box appearing on my screen with the message:-

C:\windows\sysvxd.exe
The NTVDM has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:06bc IP:0231 OP:63 75 74 20 69 Choose 'Close' to terminate the operation.

The options are 'close' or 'ignore'.

I clicked close for a few days before going through your list of recommendations. I attach the log files as requested.

Have I resolved the issue? Is my laptop (acer TravelMate 5720 running windows XP) now in the clear? What should I do to keep things ticking over cleanly going forward?

Many many thanks
