    Input out of range

    I have just bought a computer and trying to set it up. I have done something wrong and am getting this message. Input out of range change settings 1440 x 990 -60 mz. I am using windows vista . I know i need to change back but how do I do that when I cant access the desk top when the screen is just black

    start in safe mode and set your display to a resolution and refresh rate that your monitor supports.

    Restart in safe mode.

      Whatever you "did wrong" is where you need to change things. Display settings.

      Save mode with VGA.
      Or, safe mode with command line.
