i have just been onto the royal mail to purchase a printed postage/address, i had a bad time because i myself have always used firefox, but the royal mail site would not support firefox for me to print my pre-paid stamp/address, i had to go and use my internet explorer, i ask the question if there is many more sites that do not support firefox

It's nothing to do with supporting Firefox. Some sites are built around a certain browser, but sites like Royal Mail would be compatible with all browsers. FYI, Royal Mail loads fine for me with FF.

I CAN ONLY TELL YOU OF MY EXPERIENCE JUST 20 MINUTES AGO, the royal mail site does not support firefox, hence it would not let me print off the label/postage i purchased, as soon as i load my browser internet explorer, it was only then i could print from the site, i look forward to your comments

Well I can tell you of my experience 5 minutes ago. I went onto the Royal Mail site and had no problems whatsoever.

what you should try is printing off label/postage you purchase from the royaal mail, firefox will not let you

I think I'll have to buy something from the UK first....

Besides that, I really doubt that the problem is that Firefox is "incompatible" with the site. I think it's probably just a problem with your version. If you want to investigate, then please start a new topic in this board.

Yes, but usually, HTML and CSS rendering is not affected between versions - usually security, usability, and stability is updated.
HTML and CSS rendering and layout is something you get right from the beginning - that's what a browser is for after all.

          Chrome by far,
I downloaded Chrome yesterday and noticed a difference straight away,
however its still not my default browser  - firefox is still preferred.

well as patio put it, its not as much as the browser as it is your computer maintenance. i personally think firefox is because i use it the most  :P

Firefox is a decent browser, but Chrome has that built-in sandbox mode that other browsers don't have, which prevent malware from being activated in browser to pc....

Actually, forget about google Chrome, get SRWare Iron, which is a better version of Google Chrome. All the privacy issue related things coming with Google Chrome has been removed (except for new tab page but that can be disabled easily). Google doesn't need to collect information about what you do!

I CAN NOT believe you guys are arguing over GUI browsers.  In a speed war, Lynx beats the lot, no contest.  ;)
