I am having troubles updating my drivers I am using an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS and when I install the latest driver 8250 it gives me an error that it failed to initiate so windows stopped it ( code 43 ). In addition to that when I start up my computer before the log in screen there are about 6 vertical blue lines which weren't there before I recently reformatted my computer. As well as those problems sometimes when I try to open a window it will sit there for a bit and then just not open the window such as windows update or control panel.

Have you run tools like Memtestx86 and so on like that to check to make sure your hardware hasnt suffered any damage.
That may be a possible problem.
