RC is is more of a passing phase. Just making sure it's really what people want before RTM officially gets underway. When RTM gets underway, code is frozen and therefore a lot of the bugs coming after that will have to be fixed on patch tuesdays usually.

I say Vista is not really worth it. At least Microsoft made a better one. Windows 7 (RC Version is out right now to downlod from MSDN)
I agree. While Vista is not worth it, Window 7 (which includes a "XP Mode") is a very decent OS.

People who bash Vista used it for exactly 3 days....
    Everyone else gets it...
BTW if you hated Vista you may as well skip Win7 entirely and any other Microsoft release for the next 20 years.....
    Right on Patio!
While i don't mind Vista (it came pre-installed on my lappy), I still think XP all round was a better OS. Vista is way over trash talked, it's not a gold nugget or anything but it is a decent, working & generally stable OS. Windows 7 is like Vista fixed up real nice. I've used it for a month or 2 and it's great.

How many times do we have to say this is the SAME stuff that happens with EVERY new windows release.

I like <older version> better then <newer version> because it has <insert obscure feature that was moved to a different location in newer version that the person was unable to find during their 3 hour test run of newer version>. Because if that, I have to stick with <older version>. Also, I find <older version> to have better <insert feature that newer version does better> and I don't like that <newer version> has <insert feature that is installed by default in newer version but is easily disabled or even ignored and is thus not a good basis for complaining>.

There, I even got some field codes in there.

OMG, where do comments like this come from?  ::)  I've had my laptop with Vista Home Premium since July 2007 and it DOES NOT crash a lot.

When the laptop falls off the table (or lap), it crashes.   ::)

This is what I'm wondering: Why does Vista get bad reviews? Not by you guy's I can tell, but by other people.

because most people were running the windows vista on crappy pc's and that wrecked the performance and secondly, the wonderful world of xp has gone to becoming a new vista world where everything's gotta be relearned. That's what I think, LOL  ;D

People always like to complain about something, and be part of the crowd. It's human nature. All of my computers were upgrade from xp to vista because I like it much more. As long as your computer has the right specs for vista, and aren't trying to upgrade a computer with only 512MB of RAM and crappy graphics card, you are fine. I <3 Vista! 8)
