I haven't seen much of anything that won't run on my Win2K machine...

I don't think Vista - I think it is too slow

I like Windows 7 RC1 so I think that I'll wait until it is released

it has said that it will crash a lot
My Vista laptop has been running for the last month straight with no problems...
Vista does NOT crash lots...at least not with SP1.

again, if you like the operating system, it doesn't crash on you often and it handles the things you want to do on it, then it's worth it for you.

it takes time to load that
Not much more than XP on my system.

How does dial-up effect Vista? That make no sense. With the complexity of web content anymore, dial-up is going to be slow whether you're on Vista or not. Vista has nothing to do with it.

It's ignorant, false comments like that which have given Vista a bad name. That's almost as bad as the sleep-mode comments earlier.

You have Microsoft Office, so just copy your forum comments to Word and use its spell check.  Or, just compose your comments in Word first, check spelling, and then copy them to the forum message panel.

Firefox spell checks, right out of the box.  No add-ons required.
Just watch for the little red underlines.  Right click on the underlined words and select the correct spelling from the drop down menu.

"Is Vista worth it"?  Well, not if you had to buy it!  If it came pre-loaded on your PC, well it's not so bad.  From what I've seen so far, Windows 7 will blow Vista right out of the water.
About two weeks ago, I wiped out Vista on my #2 HD and replaced it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64, RC1.
That's one of the best moves I've ever made.
Win-7 came with drivers for all my hardware, except, my three Epson printers and my ZOOM USB modem.  When Win-7 finished loading, it came up "ON LINE".  I thought that was pretty NEAT!

      Cheers Mates!
