Anybody here also on Yahoo! Answers.
I am and love the computer section there.

Yahoo Answers is a huge scam, in my opinion.

Half the answers you get from their website have one word answers, or things that I would never consider an answer... eg: "LOL!!!!!"

I've used Yahoo Answers a few times, and then I just quit using it. Its a pain to deal with the people there who choose to provide the most unhelpful answers, just to get points.

I have found Yahoo answers to be pretty helpful at times....and other times, completely useless.

Normally i would agree with you. But the computer section is good, nothing like you described. Majority of the rest of sections are unhelpful.

thats how I felt a good bit of the time and when I did I never got credit ether. I done ones that I can do and such like all of us but it's hard when you cant really leed ether.

I haven't used the computer section but have a number of others. Not found it much use.

Quite a few of the questions on Answers.yahoo.com are put up as jokes as well... and a majority by very young people who do not understand apropriate communication skills... (thus why they use excessive shorthand that mak absol. N cense @ all, and 4 da life 0f m3, i just dont git it.) (It took me 45 seconds to write that... depressing)

Yahoo Answers is good for certain things, like the Computer Section. But otherwise, people are just trying to get points. I use Answers for not THAT important questions. That's because I don't want my computer getting screwed up just because someone wanted 2 points. I got one of my questions banned, but It was just a computer question. Good thing I found computerhope.com!

A lot of the computer advice is incomplete (due to laziness of contributors) or, quite frequently, just bad or 100% incorrect... as if the person who replied read another question and then posted the reply for it on another topic.

I would almost always get marked as "best answer", simply because I did a few thing...
Answered in full (no shorthand)
Explained all terms
Included everyone elses posts and re-stated them in different words to better explain what they might have been trying to say... then also including everyone that replied that was utterly incorrect.

I've been on Wikianswers & am not going back there again. It sucks.
However I do enjoy writing articles for Wikipedia.

Windows Live Q&A (Yahoo Answers copy, really...) is a similar system... the last time I was there, it was pretty descent.
I haven been there in over a year though.

I enjoy smaller forums like this, since there is a moderation team able to review nearly everything... and, its not filled by a bunch of screaming children who still throw tantrums.

at least there's decent people here. Some of those Yahoo answers seemed like wierd freakish people who don't even have a heart. And that's scaring me to say the least
